5014 Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct surveys and assessments to identify hazardous conditions affecting workers, property, and the environment, then investigate causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent incidents. Perform risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, while providing new employee orientation and safety training on equipment use. Coordinate committee meetings and collaborate with external stakeholders, including local authorities and disaster management groups, to develop and maintain emergency response plans. Act as evacuation marshal, fire marshal, or incident coordinator as needed. Requires relevant EHS certifications and experience managing business risk with legislators and governing bodies.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification and/or experience
- Relevant Health, Safety and Environmental certification(s)
- Seasoned demonstrated active working experience with environment, health and safety issues in a related industry / environment
- Seasoned experience dealing with a variety of stakeholders and influencing decision making to manage business risk
- Seasoned demonstrated experience dealing with legislators and governing bodies
- Seasoned knowledge of the environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, codes, and standards and their application and interpretation
