Plan a program of study meeting individual student needs and create a classroom environment conducive to learning. Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals by establishing clear objectives and employing appropriate instructional methods. Assess student accomplishments regularly and counsel with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis. Assist administration in implementing policies governing student life, develop classroom behavior rules, and maintain order fairly. Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers, evaluating their job performance cooperatively with department heads. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required. Work a ten-month year with salary according to the current schedule.
