Job Summary
Provide an appropriate program of education and training for students while utilizing team abilities to the fullest. Administer individual diagnostic tests to assess educational achievement and provide classroom management based on child development principles. Submit quarterly student progress reports to parents and district administrators, maintaining up-to-date attendance and child tracking data. Work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop professional relationships that facilitate mainstreaming students. Assume additional duties as assigned by the program supervisor. This role supports the Norristown Area School District's ESL program for elementary and secondary levels, with a preference for bilingual candidates in Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- PDE Elementary Certification
- Instructional I or II Grades 4-8
- Instructional I or II Grades 7-12
- Ability to work as a member of a team
- Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people
- Must be cooperative, congenial, and self-motivated
- Ability to complete the task of running a classroom with minimal supervision
- FBI, Pa Criminal Background, and Child Abuse clearances
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
