Job Summary
5-Axis CNC Programmer / Machinist needed to maximize the potential of newly acquired Spinner machinery and lead offline programming. Create robust 5-axis CNC programs offline using HyperMill, prove out and run programs safely on Spinner VC-855A (milling) and TC600 (turning), act as HyperMill champion to upskill the team, and work with Heidenhain and/or FANUC controls. Collaborate during the upcoming factory relocation to establish lean workflows, ensure high-quality standards for complex, low-volume, safety-critical components, and mentor colleagues adapting to new software and techniques. Based in Birmingham with a permanent, full-time role and a schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday–Thursday, early finish on Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Proven track record in 5-axis offline CNC programming
- Hands-on experience with HyperMill CAM software (critical requirement)
- Strong setting and operating capabilities on 5-axis CNC milling and turning centers
- Direct experience with Spinner VC-855A and TC600 models is highly desirable
- Proficiency with Heidenhain and/or FANUC machine controls
- Proactive, problem-solving mindset with ability to train and mentor colleagues
- Background in precision engineering and tight tolerances on complex parts
- Forward-thinking attitude and openness to new methods and technologies
