Job Summary
Operate 5-Axis CNC tool grinding machines to produce premium quality carbide, carbide-tipped, and HSS cutting tools. Program and set up machines, read blueprints, and perform daily functional checks. Inspect finished products for defects using quality control tools and measurement equipment, correcting issues to ensure consistent output. Pull materials for upcoming jobs and communicate quality concerns to programmers or the General Manager. Requires strong math skills for metric-to-inch conversions and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Based in Hartland, WI, this role supports Sandvik's global engineering group, which provides solutions for manufacturing, mining, and infrastructure industries.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Strong math skills required to perform day to day operations including the ability to convert metric to inch and decimal to fraction
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to accurately read blueprints
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
- Lightwork that includes bending into the machine, light lifting up to 20 pounds and some repetitive motions
- Prolonged periods of standing at a machine
- Location: Hartland, WI
- Shift: 1st
Desired Qualifications
- Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machining
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Previous 5-Axis CNC Setup / Operator experience
- Programming experience
- A well-rounded knowledge of cutting tools
