Job Summary
Art/Theatre teaching role (0.5 FTE each) at Little Rock, AR, for a 9.25-month contract with benefits. Responsibilities include developing curricula for an interdistrict interdisciplinary art and Spanish program, participating in in-service for professional growth, identifying community resources, fostering student self-discipline through artistic and academic achievement, organizing events to recognize student achievement, maintaining visibility of students’ work, instructing assigned classes at scheduled times, and performing other duties as assigned. Requires a bachelor’s degree, Arkansas art-teacher certification, prior successful teaching experience, collaboration to develop interdisciplinary programming, willingness to engage in staff development, strong classroom-management skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to desegregated education. Employment offers a salary schedule with precise placement based on education and experience; FLSA exempt. The position is located in Little Rock, Arkansas, United States.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in minimum.
- Must have Arkansas certification requirements for an art teacher.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience.
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively in developing and implementing an interdisciplinary program.
- Willingness to participate (with stipend) in staff development activities prior to beginning of contract and throughout school.
- Evidence of skills in the area of classroom management.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
