Job Summary
.5 Art Teacher/.5 Theatre position under a 9.25-month contract that supports an integrated Art/Spanish program; develops curricula for the interdistrict school; participates in in-service and staff development; identifies and utilizes community resources; fosters self-discipline in artistic and academic achievement; helps organize special events recognizing student achievement and maintains visibility of student work; instructs assigned classes as scheduled; collaborates to implement an interdisciplinary program; requires a bachelor’s degree and Arkansas certification for art teaching, proven teaching experience, collaboration skills, and a commitment to desegregated education. The role includes regular duties, planning, and occasional physical requirements consistent with school environments. Locations noted as Little Rock, Arkansas.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in minimum
- Arkansas certification requirements for an art teacher
- Evidence of successful teaching experience
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively in developing and implementing an interdisciplinary program
- Willingness to participate (with stipend) in staff development activities prior to beginning of contract and throughout school
- Evidence of skills in classroom management
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills
- Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education
