Job Summary
Special Education Teacher needed to develop accommodations for students with special needs, collaborate on 504 plans and IEPs, and provide inclusive instruction in an urban K-12 setting. Responsibilities include modifying and differentiating curriculum, delivering pull-out/push-in/small-group/one-on-one instruction, analyzing student work and data, writing annual IEP goals, building relationships with students and families, and participating in weekly school-wide meetings, PD, mentorship, and team planning. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, MA SPED licensure or equivalent, MTELs, and SEI endorsement; starting salaries range from $71,000 to $116,000; location: Lynn, MA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Massachusetts: MA special education license or applicable license from another state or,
- Documented completion of approved undergraduate or graduate program in special education
- If not holding above qualifications, supervision by licensed educator and MTELs must be passed within first year (MTELs: Communications and Literacy Skills; MTEL subject area tests English or Mathematics)
- SEI endorsement
- Must pass state teacher certification tests to meet MA requirements
- Experience: 1-2 years in urban K-12 settings preferred
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and internal/external partners
