Job Summary

Special Education Teacher needed to develop accommodations for students with special needs, collaborate on 504 plans and IEPs, and provide inclusive instruction in an urban K-12 setting. Responsibilities include modifying and differentiating curriculum, delivering pull-out/push-in/small-group/one-on-one instruction, analyzing student work and data, writing annual IEP goals, building relationships with students and families, and participating in weekly school-wide meetings, PD, mentorship, and team planning. Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Massachusetts: MA special education license or applicable license from another state or,
  • Documented completion of approved undergraduate or graduate program in special education
  • If not holding above qualifications, supervision by licensed educator and MTELs must be passed within first year (MTELs: Communications and Literacy Skills; MTEL subject area tests English or Mathematics)
  • SEI endorsement
  • Must pass state teacher certification tests to meet MA requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years in urban K-12 settings preferred
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and internal/external partners
