Job Summary
The Professional School Counselor will promote students' academic, career, and social-emotional growth through a comprehensive ASCA-aligned program, delivering individual and small-group counseling, classroom guidance, and academic/career planning (including 4-year plans). They will manage 504 plans, support special education, participate in IEP/504 meetings, and collaborate with staff, families, and community resources to support student success, equity, and postsecondary readiness. Responsibilities include crisis support and referrals, facilitation of college applications, FAFSA and financial aid processes, and leadership in school-wide initiatives while maintaining FERPA-compliant records and upholding district goals. The role requires strong communication, organizational, analytical, and collaboration skills, and a commitment to inclusive practices and data-driven program evaluation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited institution
- Hold a valid Professional Service License with endorsements: Professional School Counselor K-8 - 172
- Professional School Counselor 5-12 - 173
- Previous experience working as a school counselor is preferred
