5-12 Apprentice Teacher

Apprentice Teacher role in the Uncommon Schools network offers hands-on classroom practice for individuals with limited or no teaching experience. The position involves observing Master Teachers, co-teaching, providing substitute coverage, tutoring and grading, and supporting enrichment activities. Apprentice Teachers may teach a class or small groups, develop mentoring relationships with students, participate in professional development, and work with an instructional coach to build toward a full-time teaching position within the school. Responsibilities include implementing curricula, designing assessments, data-informed instruction, collaborative curriculum development, advisory/homeroom support, supervision during transitions, and effective communication with students, families, and colleagues. Educational background and work experience emphasize passion for working with K-12 students and alignment with the school’s mission; Bachelor’s degree required.
