Job Summary
4th Grade Math Teacher responsible for delivering rigorous instruction aligned to state standards, planning weekly lessons, tracking student progress, communicating with families, and maintaining an engaged classroom culture. Requires Bachelor's degree and Texas teaching certification; responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction, assessing mastery, analyzing data to intervene, and participating in school-wide initiatives. Includes after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed, with opportunities for stipends based on certifications and campus leadership; retirement and benefits package described. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to IDEA’s mission of helping students succeed in college.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
- High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred)
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred)
- Licenses or Certifications: Teachers of record for students in K-3 must possess appropriate Reading Academies certification in accordance with TEA requirements or must be willing and able to obtain all relevant TX training within required timelines.
- Bilingual certification strongly preferred, content and ESL certification preferred (not required)
