Job Summary
Plan and deliver daily mathematics instruction aligned with Tennessee Academic Standards, differentiating lessons for diverse learners including those with IEPs, 504 Plans, English Learners, and gifted students. Utilize assessment data to guide instruction, monitor progress, and implement interventions while developing formative and summative assessments to evaluate mastery. Foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on, collaborative learning and integrate educational technology to enhance engagement. Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment, communicate regularly with parents, and collaborate with grade-level teams and administrators to improve practices. Participate in professional development, PLCs, and school-wide events while maintaining accurate records. Full-time, 10-month position requiring a Tennessee teaching license and Bachelor's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a closely related field
- Valid Tennessee Teaching License with appropriate Elementary Education endorsement
- Demonstrated knowledge of elementary mathematics instruction and best teaching practices
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze student performance data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Commitment to high academic expectations and student success
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and during school activities
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching upper elementary mathematics
- Experience in a charter school environment
- Knowledge of MTSS/RTI instructional practices
- Experience using educational technology platforms and student data management systems
- Strong understanding of elementary mathematics concepts and instructional strategies
- Ability to create engaging, standards-based lesson plans
- Effective classroom management techniques
