Job Summary
Operate, monitor, and maintain oil-fired heating systems and boilers; perform preventative maintenance; monitor system performance and report deficiencies; maintain boiler logs and safety compliance documentation; participate in rotating on-call schedule; travel to other communities as needed; collaborate with Oil Heat Systems Technicians and licensed Plumbers to ensure systems remain safe and functional; Rotational or relocation options available; location: Iqaluit, NU; requirements include 4th Class Power Engineer Certification, experience with oil-fired boilers, Class 5 license, and ability to pass a criminal background check.
Required Qualifications
- Valid 4th Class Power Engineer Certification
- Experience with operation and routine maintenance of oil-fired boilers and heating equipment
- Familiarity with pumps, motors, basic control systems, and heat distribution equipment
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in remote environments while contributing to a collaborative team
