Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, adapting instruction for diverse student needs and learning styles. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional activities. Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct while creating a classroom environment conducive to intellectual, emotional, and social growth. Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers, overseeing their completion and compiling required reports and records. Establish professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community members, and participate in staff development activities and faculty meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred one year student teaching or approved internship
