Job Summary
Operate tractor/trailer units to transport finished goods, packaging materials, and pallets between the production facility, distribution center, and outside warehouses. Safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move product to various locations, and stack material. Before operating, check tractor and trailer units for safe operating conditions, inform supervisors of maintenance issues, and spot delivery trailers while chocking wheels. Keep vehicles neat and clean, complete required paperwork, and follow safety rules and company policies. Participate in training, employee meetings, and project teams as appropriate. Perform other work as directed by the supervisor. Requires current Commercial Driver's License, DOT approval, and forklift certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school plus additional training
- Math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- Current Commercial Driver's License
- DOT approved
- Certified forklift operator
- Visual acuity to operate motor vehicles
- Eye/hand/foot coordination to operate forklift
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles
- Ability to reach in any direction
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently
- Ability to grasp objects with fingers and palm
- Ability to talk and exchange ideas by spoken word
- Ability to hear sounds at normal speaking levels
- Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands and/or fingers
