Job Summary
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based asynchronous and synchronous virtual care across primary, urgent, women's, men's, weight management, dermatology, and pediatric programs. Review comprehensive patient intake information, including medical history and submitted photos, to ensure safe prescribing decisions. Conduct thorough clinical assessments aligned with Wheel guidelines, utilizing clinical snippets and workflows to tailor education and treatment plans. Prescribe medications responsibly while ensuring alignment with patient eligibility, formulary guidance, and safety parameters. Document each patient encounter using a complete and structured SOAP note, including rationale for prescribing or referring, patient counseling, and follow-up recommendations. Engage in clear and compassionate communication with patients through secure messaging or live video visits. Refer patients to in-person care when clinical guidelines are not met, documenting rationale and providing clear instructions. Maintain compliance with quality assurance standards and escalate urgent clinical concerns according to platform protocols. Collaborate with Wheel's clinical operations team for onboarding, platform support, and guideline updates.
Required Qualifications
- Multiple state licenses
- 40 minimum with at least 2 of the following states: TN, MS, GA, AL, IN, AR, LA
- Available a minimum of 12 hours per week between 4pm - 12am CT
- 16 weekend hours per month minimum required
- Experience treating pediatric patients required
- Experience/ comfortability providing medical weight management
- Ability to perform both synchronous and asynchronous consults
- 2+ years of clinical experience in emergency, urgent care, or family medicine/primary care experience
- Outstanding clinical expertise
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with technology
- Board-certified physician (MD or DO) from a US-accredited medical school
- Board-certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 year of telemedicine experience preferred
