Job Summary
3rd Shift Weld Machine Operator responsible for running welders and other machines, inspecting parts, and maintaining organized work areas. Responsibilities include moving finished parts with pallet jack, setting up work centers per instructions, performing and following TPM programs, training associates, operating welders and other equipment at or above target rates, setting up jobs and verifying settings, inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and force testers, recording results in Plex, maintaining accurate status entries, completing rate sheets and submitting them timely, and adhering to safety and lean practices. The role requires flexibility for overtime and contributing to continuous improvement through TPM, 5S, and ISO-related activities; occasional travel may be required. Tools used include pallet jack, part lifter, Plex, calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, force testers, plasma cutter, and work boards; PPE and safety procedures are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- GED or High School Equivalency preferred
- Tow-motor license useful
- No previous experience required (entry level)
- Experience or familiarity with calipers, micrometers, gauges, force testers
- Fluent with Plex system
- Ability to operate welders and machines
- Ability to set up jobs and check settings
- Ability to inspect parts and record results
- Ability to maintain clean work area
- Able to participate in TPM programs
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Able to travel occasionally for domestic travel as needed
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S principles
