Job Summary
Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and customer commitments while monitoring performance to address safety, quality, and delivery issues. Optimize staffing and labor utilization, ensure equipment effectiveness through coordination with Maintenance and Engineering, and support production scale-up and new technology implementation. Promote a "Quality First" culture by ensuring compliance with specifications, driving reduction of scrap and rework, and supporting CAPA and continuous improvements. Supervise, coach, and mentor hourly employees, conduct performance evaluations, manage attendance and scheduling, and foster cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams. Lead by example in safety culture to maintain zero injuries and ensure adherence to OSHA, environmental, and Coherent Corp. EHS standards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent manufacturing experience
- 2–5 years of manufacturing supervisory / management experience
- Experience supervising hourly employees in a production environment
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture with zero injuries as the goal
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company EHS policies and procedures
- Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations
- Ensure employees receive required training and maintain compliance with all operating procedures
- Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System
