Job Summary
Prepare metal for painting by sandblasting and wiping down steel to remove oil and cutting fluids. Use measurement devices to record sandblast profiles and perform daily maintenance routines on blast equipment. Clean the blast booth, lights, and change filters while following safe operating procedures and wearing proper safety gear. This role involves standing for prolonged periods, lifting up to 100lbs, and working in a fabrication shop environment exposed to noise, dust, odors, and chemicals. Candidates must have one or more years of experience blasting in a production environment and the ability to read digital and analog profiler tools.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic math calculations
- 1 or more year experience blasting in a production/Industrial environment
- Ability to read tape measure digital and analog profiler and other handheld measuring tools
- Must be able to lift up to 100lbs
- Position requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of metal alloys various blast media and their properties
