Job Summary
Operate production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures, monitoring product quality and supporting efficient manufacturing workflows. Compounds, mixes, and blends product batches by reading work orders, weighing materials, and loading raw products into vats or mixers while logging time, temperature, and batch data. Perform routine equipment checks, troubleshoot malfunctions, and execute quality inspections throughout the production process. Package finished products, maintain clean work areas, and assist with machine changeovers while reporting hazards to supervisors. Requires 3rd shift schedule (9:45 P.M. - 6:15 A.M.) and experience in compounding or batching.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous manufacturing or production experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Compounding, Batching, Blending, Pre-weigh, or Chemical
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- Ability to use measuring tools and production equipment
- Speak, read and write English effectively
- Learn to use and operate scan guns to report and control inventories
- Physically able to work 8 hrs. shifts
- Ability to balance, climb, stand, bend, squat, squeeze, kneel, turn, crouch, stoop repeatedly
- Physically able to lift 55 pounds and manipulate up to a 500-pound drum on a regular basis
- Good eye/hand coordination
- Ability to seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise working with hand or hands
- Must be able to mop, sweep, pick up and carry items
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
- Must be able to work in a hot and dusty environment
- Exposure to outside elements during workday
- Potential exposure to chemicals or air pollutants
- May require shift work, overtime, weekends, or holidays
- Regularly stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to follow all safety, environmental, and quality regulations
- Must be able to start machine and observe operation to detect malfunctions
- Must be able to stop machine and report malfunction to supervisor
- Must be able to read work order or formula to determine types and quantities of materials
- Must be able to weigh quantities of materials for use in manufacturing processes
- Must be able to load raw materials products in prescribed sequence into vat, hopper or mixing pot
- Must be able to monitor and log time and temperature as specified on Batch ticket
- Must be able to accurately record information such as weight, type of product, date and batch number of products produced
- Must be able to maintain accuracy of inventory of materials used and on hand by recording on the batch sheet and marking drums
- Must be able to perform quality checks during production to ensure products meet production specifications and customer quality standards
- Must be able to package finished products
- Must be able to place loose or packaged material on scales and add or remove portions of material to obtain specified weight
- Must be able to transfer weighed materials to production or storage areas
- Must be able to inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of manufacturing process
- Must be able to maintain a clean and organized work area (5S/housekeeping standards)
- Must be able to report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality concerns to supervisors
- Must be able to assist with machine changeovers and setup activities
- Must be able to work collaboratively with maintenance, quality, and production teams
- Must be able to clean work area, machines, tools, and equipment
- Must be able to perform other routine duties
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others

Desired Qualifications
