Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical systems for greenhouse operations while collaborating with management to schedule maintenance and minimize downtime. Perform routine upkeep on agricultural machinery, troubleshoot issues effectively, and adhere to strict safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of all repair activities to ensure regulatory compliance. Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including dust and allergens, requiring long-term standing, squatting, and lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance. Utilize cellular or radio devices for communication and operate necessary machinery across the facility.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency with over 2 years of experience as a mechanic
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Familiarity with standard, essential hand tools used in the trade
- Self-driven individual with a solid work ethic and commitment to quality
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
- Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language
- Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including various weather conditions and with dust and allergens
- Long-term (up to 8+hours/day) ability for walking, standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis
- Ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility
- Ability to obtain the required certifications to operate such equipment, as necessary
- Ability to work at heights over 6 (six) feet
- Ability to utilize and communicate through a cellular or radio-like device
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds unaided
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
