Job Summary
3rd Shift Manufacturing Engineer needed to lead projects and drive process improvements in product design, manufacturing processes, and capital equipment development. Responsibilities include overseeing new product introductions, optimizing processes with engineering/manufacturing teams, managing production, tooling, testing, calibration, and developing manufacturing methods and routings. Drives lean principles to reduce defects, improve productivity, and ensure quality, safety, and cost effectiveness; leads cross-functional teams to resolve product/process issues and achieve production needs. Requires BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of industry experience (aerospace experience preferred), CAD (Unigraphics) proficiency, knowledge of Lean and SPC, and strong problem-solving and project management abilities. This is a full-time role based in Chicago, IL with standard benefits.
Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years in an industry setting
- Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing
- Knowledge of SPC tools
- CAD experience (Unigraphics preferred)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong project management and collaboration skills
