Job Summary
Understand specifications from blueprints and mechanical drawings, then configure machines by loading materials, installing tools, and adjusting parameters. Prepare test runs to verify output compliance and continuously inspect parts using calipers and micrometers. Operate manual lathes while maintaining accurate records of settings, production, and adjustments. Keep work areas clean and prioritize safety at all times. Requires proficiency in manual lathe techniques, GD&T, and reading technical drawings.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of common Manual Lathe techniques
- Skilled in reading technical drawings and blueprints to understand the specifications of the parts being manufactured
- Understanding and application of GD&T
- Analytical and numerical skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations
- Ability to work with decimals and fractions
- Use of basic measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.)
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
