Job Summary
3rd Shift Maintenance Technician in La Crosse, WI. Responsibilities include performing routine and breakdown maintenance on processing and packaging equipment, conducting preventive maintenance, and assisting with machine set ups and rebuilds. Read and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, and work orders; perform emergency repairs as needed; maintain documentation and support GMP/SOP compliance; ensure proper function of line support systems; maintain a clean, safe work area; collaborate with other departments and manage parts inventory. Focus on applying safe methods of equipment repair and supporting production efficiency on the 3rd shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM; OT as needed). The role requires technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Associate’s or Technical School Degree in Mechanics, Electrical, Computer Science or Food Processing preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
- Understanding of preventative maintenance programs required
- Mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic electrical knowledge required
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders
