Job Summary
Monitor shop floor safety, sequence jobs, and schedule constrained resources to meet production schedules. Ensure materials are procured and distributed while driving continuous improvement, waste elimination, and root cause corrective action projects. Manage outbound shipments for multiple customer types, including documentation for overseas deliveries, and determine overtime needs when resources are insufficient. Implement preventive maintenance, Lean Manufacturing, and 6 Sigma initiatives to increase production efficiency. This 3rd shift role supports Caterpillar's global manufacturing of sustainable products, requiring strong teamwork and critical thinking skills.
Required Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and tools
- Machine shop operations
- Equipment and processes
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
- Critical thinking, analytical skills, and initiative
- Demonstrated knowledge of order to delivery, engineering and/or manufacturing principles
- Familiar with company policies and procedures
