Job Summary
Operate high and low speed buffers, propane burnishing equipment, and water extraction machines to perform carpet cleaning, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing of hard surface floors. Sweep, mop, and shampoo carpets while removing trash and performing light window and wall cleaning duties across assigned areas. Maintain equipment and supplies, inspect tools for quality, and ensure correct chemical dilution ratios are followed. Lift furniture and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently. Follow established safety precautions and maintain a high standard of excellence during the 10pm to 6am Monday-Friday shift.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Able to read, write, and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pound on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
- Extensive walking and standing for the duration of the shift
- Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks with production and service time frames as established by the company
- Ability to work with various temperatures extreme from hot to cold
- Must be able to operate high and low speed buffers up to 24 inch and 3000 RPM propane burnishing equipment
- Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, and carpet cleaning equipment
- Inspect & examine the equipment & attachment tools to ensure quality
- Examine floor care chemicals and their use, ensuring correct dilution ratios are being followed
- Lifting or moving furniture, supplies, and/or equipment
- Sweep and mop floors
- Clean or shampoo carpets
- Perform light window and wall cleaning duties
- Trash removal
- Maintain equipment and supplies
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of people
- Willingness to learn
- Clear criminal background check
- Must be able to work 3rd shift (10pm-6am) Monday-Friday
- Must be able to work weekends
Desired Qualifications
- High school degree preferred
- Prior floor, hard surface, carpet cleaning or janitorial experience preferred
- Good interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina
