Job Summary
The 3rd Shift Chemical Mixer II position involves making batch mixes following established formulations to meet daily safety, quality, and production goals. Responsibilities include performing minor equipment setup, operating mixing and testing equipment, gathering raw materials, completing production records, and participating in LEAN events to improve efficiency. Candidates should be self-motivated, possess a high school diploma, have attention to detail, and understand safety protocols, including HAZMAT training. Preferred qualifications include some college education in mathematics or science and prior manufacturing experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Knowledge of various equipment (fill machines, pallet jack, box knife, batch gun, mix tanks, drum mover, microscope, viscometer, and computer) is helpful
- Self-motivated with the ability to work at a fast pace in order to meet department units and production needs
- Ability to work as a member of a team to meet department goals
- High attention to detail
- Ability to read and comprehend work orders, charge sheets and PPE requirements
- Safety-oriented
- Respirator fit test and respirator questionnaire required upon hire and annually
- 24-hour HAZMAT training upon hire, and 8-hour HAZMAT annually
Desired Qualifications
- Some college preferred with advanced mathematics and/or science background preferred
- Some product knowledge preferred
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred
