Job Summary
Manufacturing blood products and samples for transfusable components (red cells, platelets, plasma) including scanning units, processing into components, leukoreducing, labeling, storage, and sample tube management. Perform data entry and operate computer programs related to component production and quality documentation. Execute complex manufacturing tasks such as pooled product manufacturing, freezing, washing, or deglycerolizing, and pathogen reduction. Maintain inventory control, communicate effectively with internal/external customers, and adapt to a variable schedule including overnight shifts. Requires High School or equivalent and typically 2+ years of related experience; strong computer skills and attention to detail are essential. Training on first shift is required for ~4–6 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- High School or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in a regulatory, laboratory, or manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and related experience (preferred)
- Good computer skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work on a team, and independently with minimal supervision
