Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines, adapting activities for diverse learning styles and special education needs. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing while managing student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct. Create a conducive classroom environment, coordinate with instructional aides and volunteers, and maintain all required reports and records. Assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities and serve as a positive role model supporting the school district's mission. Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
