Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements while presenting subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines. Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for diverse learning styles, conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement, and use results to plan instructional activities. Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans, supervise teacher aides and volunteers, and manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. Establish open communication through parent conferences and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and community members. Compile required reports, participate in faculty meetings, and attend staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned
- ESL certification required within 60 days of hire
- Knowledge of subjects assigned
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- At least one year of student teaching or approved internship
