Job Summary
Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula to meet ambitious academic expectations for third-grade social studies students. Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance, conduct formal and informal assessments to track progress, and adjust instruction based on data. Communicate student progress to families weekly while maintaining a consistent behavior management system that fosters a productive learning environment. Host necessary tutoring sessions and participate in grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and weekly manager check-ins. Maintain a cooperative relationship with students and families based on trust and respect. Complete a minimum of 40+ hours at school per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Holding or willing to pursue a Florida educator certification
- Minimum of 40+ hours spent at school per week
- All staff members will undergo drug testing prior to starting in their new role with us
- Employment in this role is contingent upon successful completion of a background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Desired Qualifications
- High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience
- Experience in a K-12 classroom setting
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned and ability to pass an IDEA content assessment
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
