Job Summary
3rd Cook-GCT PT duties: assist cooks under Chef de Partie to prepare all menu items for buffet and restaurant outlets, strictly adhere to menu and ingredient specifications, maintain high standard of food service, prepare, setup and tear down buffet, prepare salads/sandwiches/dressings/sauces/vegetables/fruits and other items per recipes, reheat soups and gravies, collaborate with kitchen staff to prepare hot and cold appetizers, assist Cook 1 and 2 with meat/seafood/raw items per recipes and safety standards, assist in catering and special events, comply with food safety regulations and temperature logs, control waste, restock as needed, keep workstation clean, report hazards or defective equipment, adhere to PPE and health/safety requirements, and perform other duties as required by management. Minimum rate CAD 20.25, midpoint CAD 25.31, maximum CAD 25.31; Location: Toronto, ON, Canada.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or a minimum of one (1) year related work experience.
- Completion of Safe Food Handling course or Safe Food Handler Certificate.
- Strong knife handling skills.
- Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety requirements.
- Ability to perform tasks effectively and safely within prescribed time limits.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management as part of a team.
- Ability to successfully pass criminal record check.
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required
