Job Summary
Directs departmental production activities across Cutting, Packing, Pasteurizing/Capping, Finished Goods to meet quality and safety standards; ensures SOPs and GMPs are followed; trains staff; coordinates with other departments; manages safety, costs, and productivity; supervises and evaluates personnel; maintains reports and computer files; ensures proper operation and safety of equipment and facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school education plus additional technical or specialized training, including successful completion of Acidified Foods GMP School
- 3 years in production processes
- good written and verbal communication skills
- Must speak, read and write in English
- Conversational Spanish a plus
- Working knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations (federal, state, EEOC, ESC, EPA, OHSA, ADA, etc.)
- Supervisory experience/ability to manage people and maintain morale and teamwork
- Ability to make prompt and competent decisions and use authority wisely
- Ability to train, evaluate, and discipline employees
- Ability to read and interpret reports and data
- Familiarity with SOPs and GMPs
- Knowledge of safety rules and housekeeping requirements
- Experience with data maintenance and reporting
