Job Summary
Plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a pre-kindergarten learning environment; conduct developmental testing, administer assessments, and develop individual learning plans; collaborate with faculty to deliver instructional approaches; assess student progress and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration; supervise educational assistants, student teachers, substitutes, volunteers, and/or student workers; facilitate preschool students' learning and transitions to elementary school; conduct parent/student/teacher conferences; pursue ongoing professional development; adhere to Jackson-Madison County School Board and Tennessee Department of Education policies; EEO commitments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field
- Teacher's certificate with qualifying endorsement area
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must undergo a physical exam by a healthcare provider every three years
- Must receive at least 30 hours of documented professional development in early childhood education
- FBI/TBI Fingerprint/Background Clearance every five years
- Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent might find appropriate and acceptable
