Job Summary
Perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on Freightliner and Western Star trucks while working with Parts Technicians to coordinate component availability. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, engine, and aftertreatment systems using OEM diagnostic equipment to diagnose faults and communicate repair timelines. Test vehicles for safety standards and manufacturer specifications, then accurately record labour time, diagnostics, and parts used on repair orders. Complete commercial vehicle inspections and maintain certifications through ongoing manufacturer and in-house training. This full-time role in Cranbrook, BC, features a rotating four-day work week with year-round employment and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification
- Equivalent Canadian journeyperson certification
- Must be willing and eligible to obtain B.C. Authorized Inspector certification
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence
Desired Qualifications
- Red Seal endorsement
- DriveON or other commercial vehicle inspection experience
- Freightliner and/or Western Star experience
- Detroit and Cummins diagnostic software experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems, engines, and aftertreatment
