Job Summary
Diagnose bus systems, implement repairs to defective components, and conduct quality control checks. Perform Ministry of Transportation required inspections as part of the preventative maintenance program. Maintain certification as a Truck and Coach Technician with a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license and complete required technical courses. Work a 40-hour week involving various shifts with Sunday, afternoon, and night premiums. This role supports Metrolinx's GO Transit and UP Express operations within the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain certification as a Truck and Coach Technician, 310T designation, Interprovincial/Provincial Status.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Truck and Coach Technician - 310T designation in a transit /highway bus or similar heavy-duty repair environment.
- Detailed knowledge of heavy transit and highway bus maintenance/repair, manufacturers' specifications/schematics, MTO specifications/requirements pertaining to legislated bus inspection requirements, and state of the art transit/mechanical technology.
- Must have a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license.
- Must meet corporate standard for a good driving record.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class "C" driver's license and "Z" endorsement.
- Must be able to obtain Ozone Depletion Card.
- Must successfully complete bus related technical courses such as air conditioning, electrical and brakes, as well as other environmental and safety training as required by corporate policy.
- All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- A Criminal Record Check may be required of the successful candidate.
