Job Summary
Perform brake and safety inspections, carry out preventative maintenance, and execute service calls and cold starts for a fleet of commercial vehicles and school buses. Diagnose mechanical faults and malfunctions, confirm findings with a supervisor, and determine whether to repair or replace components. Complete monthly vehicle inspections, adhere to federal, provincial, and municipal compliance regulations, and maintain accurate reports of all work performed. Interact with drivers, dispatchers, and governmental agencies while upholding safety policies. This role reports to the Shop Foreman at Elliott Coach Lines' Elmira shop, with potential additional responsibilities in Breslau. Apprentices are also considered for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Possess and maintain in good standing a valid 310T License
- Valid Driver's License
- Thorough working knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal safety provisions
Desired Qualifications
- Practical experience in preventative maintenance practices, particularly within the School Bus industry
