Job Summary
Perform major and technically difficult diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on diesel and gas engines, including AC, electrical systems, and fuel injection. Execute preventive maintenance, tire/wheel service, and brake work while interacting with drivers to determine complaint nature. Utilize the Shop Management System for electronic documentation and adhere to federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines. Mentor other technicians and lead assignments requiring considerable judgment. Maintain professional relationships with peers, customers, and supervisors while operating independently in a fast-paced environment. Requires extensive vehicle transportation experience, ASE certifications, and valid G driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Valid G driver's license
- AZ license preferred
- All other certification as required by location
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:- Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnostics and repairs, including AC, electrical systems
- Advanced skilled level repairs to include some major engine repairs, diesel after treatment or automotive fuel injection repairs
- Four (4) years or more relevant work experience
- Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc. advanced
- Valid legal authorization to work in Canada
- Available for on call duty and work shift work/weekend

- Vocational or Technical Certification
- Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications
- Strong mechanical skills
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with advanced diagnostics, overhaul and repair of all vehicle components and systems, perform all entry level tasks, road test vehicles as necessary
- Ability to read and/or listen and understand information and ideas communicated
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly thorough and dependable
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team

- Tire and wheel safety trained within 90 days (tw220)
