Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic for heavy-duty trucks/trailers in New York City. Repair and service medium to heavy-duty trucks and all models of trailers to customer and industry-standard specifications. Responsibilities include performing repairs, basic welding, communicating completion times and costs to customers/managers, monitoring job profitability, submitting work orders for invoicing, maintaining inventory, preparing lists of required replacement parts, cleaning and maintaining the work area, and adhering to environmental, health and safety standards. Requires 2–5 years of diesel mechanic experience in heavy-duty industry (apprenticeship 2+ years), a registered 310T/310J license with skilled trades in Ontario, own or willingness to purchase tools, and a valid G-class and/or AZ license.
Required Qualifications
- Two - Five years of diesel mechanic (truck) experience within the heavy-duty industry (apprenticeship 2plus years)
- Registered license or apprentice 310T / 310J with skilled trades in Ontario
- Possess your own tools and/or the willingness to purchase tools required for the job as you advance in your skill level and responsibilities
- Valid G-class driver's license and/or AZ with good driving record
