Job Summary
Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Duty Trucks and trailers (Ontario-licensed). Responsible for repairing medium to heavy-duty trucks and all models of trailers to customer and industry-standard specifications. Performs basic welding, informs customers/managers of completion times and service costs, monitors job profitability, submits work orders for invoicing, and maintains inventory and supplies. Requires 2–5 years of diesel mechanic experience in heavy-duty industry (apprenticeship 2+ years), a registered 310T/310J license in Ontario (or apprentice), own tools or willingness to purchase, ability to lift 50+ lbs, and a valid G-class and/or AZ license with a good driving record. Skills include reading repair manuals, performing repairs to customer vehicles and trailers, adherence to health, safety and environmental standards, and willingness to contribute to a collaborative workplace. The role emphasizes maintaining quality while controlling warranty claims and re-work, and includes notes on required physical effort and workplace conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Two - Five years of diesel mechanic (truck) experience within the heavy-duty industry (apprenticeship 2plus years)
- Registered license or apprentice 310T / 310J with skilled trades in Ontario
- Possess your own tools and/or the willingness to purchase tools required for the job as you advance in your skill level and responsibilities
- Ability to lift part up to 50+ lbs.
- Valid G- class driver's license and/or AZ with good driving record
