Job Summary
Lead maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of plant, facility, and powerhouse equipment to reduce mechanical downtime and maintain production efficiency. Supervise teams of mechanics and electricians in predictive and preventative maintenance, machine repair, and troubleshooting of equipment failures. Develop, implement, and manage maintenance systems, processes, and documentation including TPM, SOPs, and safety protocols. Schedule repairs in coordination with production, review job packages for labor and materials, and distribute work orders to assigned staff. Monitor job quality, duration, and cost while frequently visiting sites to ensure progress and control execution. Develop Key Performance Indicators for tracking equipment reliability and supplier performance. Provide long-term solutions for operating team issues and train employees on work methods and safety procedures. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and inventory, and submit regular status reports to management. Requires flexibility for non-standard hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching/mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project
- Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software
- Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler, compressed air, mechanical, and electrical fields (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.)
- Advance knowledge in PSM and RMP
- Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory and scheduling software
- Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts associated with high-level process issues
- Good planning and priority setting skills
- Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
- Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Position requires the ability to sitting frequently at a desk, walking around the office and plant; carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; reaching and kneeling on a daily basis
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
- Strong leadership skills (conflict resolution, facilitation, change management skills, decision making, empowerment and delegation)
- Bilingual
