Job Summary
Conduct daily meat department operations by cutting, packaging, and pricing beef, pork, and poultry items using knives and power equipment. Manage product ordering, merchandising, and inventory to maintain cold chain standards and minimize shrink. Lead the team by coaching staff, enforcing food safety policies, and executing daily manager signoffs. Ensure displays are updated and date-rotated to maximize sales while adhering to COOL and USDA labeling requirements. Maintain sanitation standards and coordinate with store management to meet metric goals.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in basic math skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak in English
- Must be dependable and flexible
- Must adhere to uniform dress code
- Requires the ability to reach, bend, twist, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing up to 30 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
- Requires the ability to move heavy product with assistance
- Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time
- Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, and use sawing motions for extended periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- One year of previous experience cutting meat including using hand tools and power equipment, such as knives, slicers, grinders, cubing machines and power saws
- Company work history
- Language proficiency in Spanish or other languages
