Job Summary
RPT Counsellor DS role provides case management and assisted living support for adults with developmental disabilities, ABI, mental health, behavioral challenges, and those in forensic services. Responsibilities include planning and implementing services per each person’s life plan, coaching to promote self-determination and independent living, collaborating with the support team, maintaining accurate client information, and contributing to a positive team environment. Shifts are typically 12 hours and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Applicants should have a post-secondary diploma/degree in a human services field with specialized education or certification, pharmacology coursework, current First Aid/CPR, and a valid G driver’s license. Pathways to Independence is hiring six counselors; schedule is variable with 48–70 hours per pay period.
Required Qualifications
- A post-secondary diploma or degree from a human services field and specialized education, training or certification in developmental disabilities, disability studies, behavior management, social work, or psychology; (Proof of education is a condition of employment).
- Continuing education in developmental disabilities is an asset.
- Proof of completion of an approved Pharmacology course.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Valid G class driver’s license.
