Job Summary
Assist Journeyman Millwrights in the installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of concrete production machinery including conveyors, mixers, pumps, and hydraulic systems. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, inspections, and component replacements while diagnosing mechanical faults to minimize downtime. Fabricate and align mechanical components, read technical drawings, and operate precision measuring instruments safely. Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety regulations, maintain a clean work environment, and champion the safety culture by wearing PPE and reporting hazards. Perform general plant labour as required. Shifts are 8-10 hours daily Monday through Friday with a Saturday rotation, starting at 9 AM, with overtime possible during the construction season. The role is based at the Edmonton West Plant with potential travel to the Edmonton East Plant.
Required Qualifications
- Registered as an Apprentice Millwright
- preferably as a second-year apprentice
- Valid Alberta driver's licence
- clean drivers abstract
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role including lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces, and standing for extended periods
- Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment that may include exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heights
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Willingness to learn new skills and expand knowledge base
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Must be available for Saturday rotation
- Must be available for evenings
- Must be available for weekends

Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a concrete, aggregate, construction materials, or heavy industrial environment
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience with rigging, hoisting, and lifting equipment
- Basic welding or fabrication skills
