Job Summary
Provide electrical support to the Tufting Department by troubleshooting equipment, installing electrical devices and conduit, and designing circuits. Conduct advanced troubleshooting of motors, controllers, VFDs, and sensors using schematics and manuals. Collaborate with engineering teams to implement equipment process improvements through technology and automation. Assist in operational debugging of machine controllers and maintain current PLC and HMI schematics. Work in conjunction with maintenance, production, and engineering departments to ensure constant project awareness.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 5 – 7 years related experience and/or technical training in Electrical Troubleshooting, Basic Electricity, motors, VFD's, and motor controls
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be trained in and accountable for lock-out / tag-out policies and procedures
- Must be a self-starter and team player capable of multitasking and prioritizing projects
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Ability to initiate and install suggestions for upgrading electrical components and improving manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, electrical schematics, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to calculate electrical ratios, in addition to figures and amounts such as proportions, ratios, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hand and eye coordination, use hand/air/electrical power tools, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and listen
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception
