Job Summary
2nd Shift Tool & Die Apprenticeship at Vollrath Company in Kiel, WI. As a Tool & Die Apprentice, you will progressively develop skills to build, repair, troubleshoot, and improve tooling and manufacturing processes, learn CNC programming and operation, blueprint reading, welding and heat treatment, and participate in root cause investigations. The role includes operating lathes, mills, surface grinders, CNC machinery, and precision measuring instruments, reading engineering drawings, performing machining operations and complex setups under supervision, and documenting repairs and changes while maintaining safety and quality. This is a full-time paid apprenticeship with a clear pathway to Journeyman Toolmaker; includes structured on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and potential shift transfers after completion.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties
- Willingness to complete all required classroom and on-the-job apprenticeship training
- Successful completion of the apprenticeship aptitude testing process
- Successful interview with the apprenticeship selection panel
