Job Summary
Lead the MagStop Value Stream team by operating within a manufacturing cell 40% of the time while providing daily guidance to production associates. Ensure the work area maintains 5S standards, update Daily Management boards, and coordinate with supervisors to enforce a safe working environment. Address quality concerns and defects immediately, conduct training sessions on standard work and machine operations, and coach associates on safety, time management, and adherence to plant rules. Act as a primary coordinator with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to identify and solve issues, while maintaining open communication with the previous and following shift leaders. Subject to standard overtime scheduling and rotation, this fully onsite role supports Warner Electric's continuous improvement efforts to meet customer expectations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be considered current 'expert' in the area
- Must be considered a 'Champion of Lean'
- Previous experience required
- Post-secondary education preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, safety rules, quality instruction and process documentation, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedure manuals, and business correspondences
- Ability to write routine reports, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and business correspondences
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees and managers, customers, clients and the general public
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must stand 100% of the day
