Job Summary
Implement work schedules to maximize manpower utilization and assign tasks to hourly union employees. Process parts to meet production plans while reporting discrepancies in specifications or methods to the Production Manager. Monitor assigned personnel performance, conduct reviews, and take corrective action as necessary. Ensure product quality meets standards by overseeing inspections and investigating incidents per company policy. Administer company policies fairly, maintain safe working conditions, and train new employees on department activities and safety procedures. Conduct shift start-up and monthly safety meetings, and ensure accurate time and production reporting. This role reports to the Production Manager with 30-40 direct reports. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of leadership experience in an industrial environment
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in front of an audience
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives
- Ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Availability to work various shift hours and Saturdays as production demands
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in front of an audience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals

- Three years of supervisory or management experience in an industrial environment
- Working knowledge environmental regulations, and state and federal labor standards
- Experience utilizing an automated time and attendance tracking system
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts including proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume for product and the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to read blueprints
