2nd Shift Shipping & Transportation Supervisor

Job Summary
Supervise daily outbound operations including shipping, staging, truck loading, routing, and dispatch to ensure orders are delivered accurately and on time. Oversee forklift operators and team members to maintain safe, efficient loading while coordinating dock activities and carrier schedules. Utilize TMS/WMS systems to manage shipments, track loads, and resolve issues, ensuring full compliance with DOT regulations and OSHA standards. Monitor employee performance, review timecards, and implement process improvements to optimize load planning and reduce transportation costs. Partner with warehouse, inventory, and customer service teams to drive seamless order fulfillment and report on shipping KPIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience in shipping, transportation, or distribution operations
- Strong knowledge of shipping, dock operations, truck loading, and transportation processes
- Experience supervising forklift operators, dock/warehouse teams, and transportation office members
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or WMS
- Knowledge of freight compliance, and shipping documentation requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Proven experience in performance management and employee development
- Strong understanding of safety practices in warehouse and dock environments
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
