Job Summary
Operate hydraulic presses, CNC mills, lathes, and baking ovens while selecting tooling, installing programs, and performing offsets to meet blueprint specifications. Maintain orderly inventory of jigs, tools, dies, and measuring instruments, and conduct simple maintenance including sharpening and lubrication. Train new employees, fill in on any departmental job including lead persons, and perform set-ups for others as production requires. Keep accurate production records, maintain safe and clean work areas, and execute unusual or experimental work as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to operate all equipment in the department at production levels
- Ability to train new employees
- Ability to fill in on any job in the department including the lead persons when required
- Ability to select and install various tooling and or programs for multiple part sizes
- Ability to perform offsets when necessary to assure parts are manufactured to the blue print specifications
- Ability to perform set ups for other individuals as production requires
- Ability to be responsible for at least one person more than 50% of the time
- Ability to use or adapt existing tools to new jobs whenever necessary
- Ability to perform simple maintenance of both tools, such as sharpening
- Ability to perform simple maintenance of machines, such as lubrication
- Ability to maintain accurate production records, and counts
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work area
- Ability to move work as required
- Ability to do unusual or experimental work
- Ability to perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by supervision either directly or through the lead person
